Marie Antoinette's cottage - Le Hameau de la Reine

In what sense was this the queen's childhood cottage? The daughter of Maria Theresa of Austria, Marie Antoinette spent her childhood in that country, and did not see France before the age of fourteen. This "cottage", le hameau, was built for her only after she became queen of France in 1774.
