One of the most beautifully, deeply moving paintings I know of; three visits to the d'Orsay and I've yet to see it! Maybe this November...

We were there this spring and did not see it. We were told that it was in Switzerland in a traveling exhibit. I agree it is deeply moving. Are prints available at the museum? Do you know?

I purchased a postcard-sized print when I was at the Orsay Museum several years ago. At that time, this painting wasn't available as a poster.

I'm not an art fan by any means. But when I saw this painting at the d'Orsay in the summer of '03, I was stunned. I could not quit looking at it. I've been looking for a print since then.

I saw this painting in Bible Review magazine and was highly moved by the expressions of Peter and John's faces. The contrast in their faces, Peter being one of the oldest, and John being the youngest,the movement shown in their hair, & their hands clinched, etc.

I saw this picture while I lived in Paris in 2001.
It is my favourite painting.
The capturing of the complete stupification of
Peter and John upon hearing of Jesus resurrection
is very moving for me as a Christian.
Seeing it is a very spiritual experience.

I saw this painting in November 07 at the Musée d'Orsay and found it mesmerising. It was the most moving of all the paintings I saw on a 3 week art tour of London and Europe. If anybody knows where I can get a print or copy please email me at drkateneal@gmail.com
