Yeah, if there was anything I could relate the taste to, it is cough surup. My favorite drink, however, was the watermelon soda from China.

This stuff is delicious! But it's definitely not for those with wimpy tastes. :p Too bad it's not available in the US - I'd buy it.

Beverly mostly tastes like alcohol and grapefruit. After you try it, you should go and wash your mouth out with mouth wash.

I tried Beverly at the World of Coke. All of the descriptions of its taste by the postings on this site do not come close to expressing how bad it is. It's taste is worse than*&%$

I like it. I don't drink soda often, and all but Mozambique, Israel and Italy are wayyyy too sweet for me. Wish I could buy it here.

People don't understand the purpose of this drink, it is not to be consumed just as coke would. It is to be served after meals or inbetween corses to clense the pallet. Not to be chugged from a 2 Liter cuz you're thirsty. Plus, it's a sipping drink, so a little bit goes a long way =]

We spoke to a curator at the World of Coke Museum, and he said that Beverly is actually a mixer. So no it wouldn't be chugged from a 2 Lt, however it isn't a pallet cleanser either.

I tried Beverly at the World of Coke in Las Vegas back in the '90s, then again at Walt Disney World in 2006. Why I tried it again is beyond me...

We tasted it on both occasions when we went to the World Of Coke. Its sort of a rite of passage. It's only a matter of time before they add the Skull and Crossbones to the label.

the drink is obviously for people who have discriminating taste for uniqueness...
for people who sip and not gulp.
it is an aperitif afterall. a sip of a bitter aperitif makes the meal taste better and water taste sweeter.
you can gulp water afterwards :)
